A reception was held on the 14th October 2018 at the Robin Hood Hotel to mark the end of an era as Dan Meehan retires from the position of Pipe Major of The Pipes & Drums of The Royal Caledonian Society of South Australia. Dan has held the position for the last 12 years leading the band to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Edinburgh in 2007, 2011, 2017, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney, Australia in 2010, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Melbourne, Australia in 2016, The Basel Tattoo in Switzerland in 2013 and HRH The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration at Windsor Castle.
